When is the application deadline?

Is this a team or solo competition? What is the maximum number of people in a team?

This is a solo competition, though the founder/CEO can represent a team.

Who can participate in the different categories?

Anyone aged 35 and below, who have made an impact in the community or have an amazing idea that they think can help.

Can a startup participate in this competition?

Yes! Some of our past winners are founders/co-founder of startups.

Can past applicants re-apply for the competition?

Past applicants are welcomed to re-apply too, provided they haven’t won the competition before.

For students, do participants require a school statement?

Yes, for students thinking of applying, we require endorsement from school.

You will need one (1) endorsement if currently a student enrolled in any local IHLs, or two (2) endorsements if you are not enrolled in any any local IHLs.

Endorsements can be any of the following:
   – a professional reference
   – a staff from the school’s Enterprise Centre
   – a Professor from the school before submission.

What do participants prepare for the pitch?

Applicants are required to upload a pre-recorded video of themself (max 60 seconds) answering to our following problem statement, with their idea or innovation in mind.

“What was the most challenging situation you have encountered on your path to today, and how did you overcome it?”

Please do ensure that the video privacy is either set as “Public” or “Unlisted” when you share the URL with us.

Will the competition be online this year?

Submissions will be online, but pitching (central judging, final pitch, and award ceremony) will be done in-person, in accordance to safe distancing measures.

What are the grand and consolation prizes for the participants?

For the “Post-Secondary Education” and “University & Open” category, the award prizes are as follow:

• Gold: SGD$ 1,000 Cash + Plaque + Certificate
• Silver: SGD$ 750 Cash + Plaque + Certificate
• Bronze: SGD$ 500 Cash + Plaque + Certificate

For the Impact “Impact Entrepreneur of the Year” and “*SCAPE Most Innovative Entrepreneur” category, the award prizes are as follow:

• SGD$ 1,000 Cash + Plaque + Certificate

How does the awards process work?

All applicants will be informed of the shortlisting result on 12 March 2021. 

Shortlisted participants will have to participate in the Central Judging on 18 March 2021. 

The top 3 of each category will have to do a final pitch on 30 April 2021 and the winners will be invited to the award ceremony in May 2021.

Is there any cost to enter?

Application is completely free!

Can I enter for more than one category?

Yes, you may. For a fairer competition however, we encourage you to apply for the category you’re most suited to be in.

How will I know that my entry has been received?

You will receive an automated message that says your application have been received.

When will I find out if I have been shortlisted?

All applicants will receive an email of the shortlisting result on 26 March 2021.

When will the winners be announced?

After the Final Pitch on 30 April, the winners will be notified via email within 5 working days.
